Česko.Digital together with AAVIT is a partner of the IT Fitness Test 2023 digital literacy measurement in the Czech Republic. This is an international test that tests students' digital skills, not knowledge, across the V4 countries. This year we are organising the second edition in the Czech Republic and aim to more than double the number of respondents from over 8,000 in 2022 to a total of 20,000 students taking the test.
The project has a long tradition in the region, with eleven editions in the V4 countries and more than 400,000 respondents in total. The test is now also aimed at Ukrainian students (both in the Czech Republic and Ukraine).
The mapping and improvement of digital skills for the Department of Education and individual education actors is supported by the new Digital Education pillar of the Digital Czech Republic strategy, as well as by the European strategy and legislation, which is part of the Digital Decade 2030 programme and is also linked to the European Year of Skills 2023, which aims to coordinate and advance the Czech Republic primarily in the areas of basic digital skills.
This year, the twelfth edition, is coordinated for the entire region by the Digital Coalition of the Slovak Republic. This year, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, as well as the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic provided expert patronage.
